Moira McTague is a Fine Art graduate who lives and works in rural North Yorkshire.
Specialising in etching and painting, her work is mainly inspired by her surroundings, sometimes birds, flowers, animals or still lives, responding intimately to things that could so easily be ignored.
As an etcher, the physical processes of working on the etching plate, the infinite possibilities of etching methods and the beautiful qualities of line and tone that can be achieved are as important to the artist as her subject matter. In both painting and etching McTague strives to achieve a sense of balance and harmony.
